In this week’s lecture material, we studied the link layer. This is the layer of the network which bridges software and hardware. We learned about hardware addresses such as MAC addresses and how they are assigned IP addresses so that they can communicate on the internet. This is accomplished using ARP, or, the Address Resolution Protocol.
