Review of Other Teams’ Projects
Orion Analytics‘ short video was done very proficiently. They gave a clear and thorough presentation. They gave adequate research to the presentation. The quality of their video was high and was interesting. The level of jargon used was appropriate for the target audience of general viewers. However, most of the narration was done by one team member, so it is hard to tell if there was collaboration involved, or if it was all made by one person.
Open Sorcerers’ long video was a clear and well-made presentation. There was a solid amount of research shown, and the presentation was done decently. The teamwork is apparent, as every member of the team provided narration and you can tell from watching that each member prepared their own slides. One element of constructive feedback I would offer would be to increase the volume of their recordings, and generally equalize the levels. It was difficult to hear the third presenter. The video was appropriate for the audience, giving a number of descriptive charts and diagrams.
Sales-High Media Marketing’s short video was amusing. The video included examples of the art discussed, which I feel did a good job of giving a background on the topic, as well as showed a level of research that went into the project. The presentation was clear, and the production was not bad at all. It is engaging due to the inclusion of comedic examples of AI art, and it offered a level of insight appropriate for the general public.
Course in Review
My team’s video project was a good lesson in collaboration. The short and long videos were both something I am proud of. We were all able to pull our own weight and get the work done in a timely manner due to good planning in advance. I feel like this was a proof-of-concept for a lot of the materials we learned in the course. All the lessons in communication, project management, and presentation were applied in this project and made me feel like I actually learned a good deal in regards to professional skills, which I believe was a major goal for this course. Next time, I believe standards need to be set about specific elements of the project. While my teammates did an excellent job, I found a specific issue in editing in regards to audio volume, which led to double the amount of work in editing in order to remedy this. Additionally, there was an issue with understanding the purpose of the short video. We were under the impression that the short video was intended for middle school students based on the assignment specifications, rather than the general public. This led to the tone of our short video being a bit different than the other teams’. However, I still believe the video has merit and I am proud of the end result.
